The Calgary real estate market showed a slight upturn from August-September 2020, with 1-bedroom and 3-bedroom condos, specifically, seeing an increase in sales. This modest growth (~3 per cent overall) is expected to continue into the end of the year. So, with the Calgary condo market benefiting from low-interest rates and substantial inventory levels, where should potential buyers be looking?

Located slightly north-east of downtown, Bridgeland-Riverside has a lot to offer its residents. To start, it’s close proximity to transit, downtown, the Calgary Zoo, St. Patrick’s Island, and Tom Campbell’s Hill National Park make it an ideal location for both families and young professionals.

Bridgeland-Riverside is also known for its diverse range of dining options, as it’s home to a myriad of restaurants that offer a broad spectrum of cuisines. Cranston is found in the far south-east of Calgary. Its far-from-downtown location won’t appeal to condo buyers who frequent the city centre, but it’s the perfect place to be for those who don’t mind a more suburban vibe.

Cranston is high on the list of Calgary condo market considerations for several reasons. To start, it’s surrounded by parks and green spaces— including the Blue Devil Golf Club and Caterpillar Park. Then there’s the selection of quality schools, with Our Lady of the Rosary and Dr George Stanley being two notable frontrunners.

As of September 2020, the average price per square foot for a property in Cranston is $305, making a 1,000 square foot condo approximately $305K. And on the plus side, there is currently plenty of inventory to choose from.


Beltline is a vibrant, eclectic neighbourhood with distinctly urban energy. It is home to some of the most celebrated restaurants, pubs, cafes, and retail boutiques the city has to offer. From Kawa Espresso Bar to Native Tongues Taqueria and Cleaver, if you’re looking for culture and excitement, Beltline is definitely one of the best Calgary neighbourhoods to check out.
